Welcome To The Improvement Society

Since 1920, the GMIS has helped sustain the cultural and social life of the Village of Gates Mills. As our name says the organization seeks to improve Village life and keep our community thriving.
The GMIS independently supports many activities in the Village including:
  • The Annual 4th of July Parade and festivities
  • The Annual Village Employee Christmas Fund
  • Village Recreation activities (tennis, pickleball, bocce)
  • Recognition of retiring Village officials and employees
  • Funding for food, drinks and children's gifts for Santa's Christmas Eve visit
  • Special meetings on important political and civic issues
  • The Animal Welfare Committee
  • Many other Village activities

In addition to the above activities, the Improvement Society has helped fund major projects or needs in the Village. Recent examples include our new Marston Park, major tennis court resurfacing and the Gates Mills Library.

See the details below to become a member of the Society and help support our Village.
